Sedation is available for many types of treatment, including emergency dentistry, extractions and wisdom teeth, same-day crowns, and complex restorative visits. We’ll help you choose the level of support that fits your needs.

Our Sedation Options

Oral Conscious Sedation

Perfect for patients with mild to moderate anxiety, oral sedation helps you relax while remaining awake and responsive. You'll feel drowsy, calm, and comfortable throughout your appointment.

IV Sedation (Anesthesia)

Ideal for:

  • Severe dental anxiety or phobia

  • Long or complex procedures

  • Patients who want little or no memory of their visit

Our IV sedation is administered exclusively by a licensed CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) using hospital-grade equipment and continuous monitoring—bringing hospital-level safety to your dental chair.

Why Choose Daydream Dental for Sedation?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • It depends on the option you choose. Oral sedation keeps you relaxed but awake, while IV sedation often places you in a deeper, sleep-like state. Your care team will explain what to expect before treatment.

  • Yes. Sedation at Daydream Dental is administered with professional monitoring and safety protocols appropriate for your health needs. A licensed CRNA oversees IV sedation for added safety.

  • No. You’ll need a responsible adult to accompany you home.

  • At Daydream Dental, your IV anesthesia is administered and monitored by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). The CRNA stays with you the entire time to continuously track your vital signs and comfort, helping ensure a safe, smooth experience.

This is an important difference: in some offices, the dentist may be responsible for both performing the dental work and managing the sedation at the same time. Having a separate anesthesia professional dedicated solely to your sedation and monitoring adds an extra layer of safety and attention throughout your visit.

  • $1,000 for the first 1-60 minutes

$250 for every 15 minute increment after the first hour

*Anesthesia services are billed separately through the company Slumber Anesthesia. Therefore, we cannot bill your insurance for this service.

  • Some people choose IV sedation over oral sedation because it can provide a deeper, more consistent level of relaxation and the dental team can adjust it in real time to keep you comfortable throughout the visit. IV sedation also tends to work faster than oral sedation and is often preferred for people with significant dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, difficulty getting numb, or for longer/more complex procedures.

Another big reason: many patients feel like they “blinked and it was over.” Because you’re very relaxed and often remember little of the appointment, it can feel much shorter, and in many cases, we’re able to work more efficiently with fewer interruptions, so the procedure can be completed faster than if you were fully awake.
