Frequently Asked Questions
-
Clear aligners are a series of custom, removable trays that gently move your teeth over time. You’ll switch to a new set of aligners on a schedule we provide, and we’ll check your progress periodically to keep things on track.
-
Our clear aligner treatment is $4,900. This fee includes your digital scan, treatment planning, aligners, and your scheduled progress visits. If your case needs additional treatment (like restorations) we’ll review that with you before we begin.
-
Invisalign and SureSmile are both reputable clear aligner systems that straighten teeth using a series of removable trays. The biggest differences are usually:
Brand ecosystem & software: Each system uses its own planning software and treatment workflows.
Case fit: Some offices prefer one system for certain types of cases based on their experience, available features, and lab support.
At the end of the day, both can produce excellent outcomes when treatment is well-planned and aligners are worn as directed.
-
Many people are great candidates for clear aligners—especially for mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and some bite concerns. The best way to know is an exam and a digital scan so we can confirm what’s realistic for your goals and timeline.
-
Retention is a must. Teeth can drift after treatment, so we’ll recommend a retainer plan to help keep your results stable long-term.
-
Treatment time varies by case complexity and how consistently you wear your aligners. Many cases fall in the 6–18 month range, but we’ll give you a more accurate estimate after we review your scan and design your plan.
-
For best results, you’ll typically wear aligners 20–22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss.
-
Most people feel pressure or mild soreness for a day or two when switching to a new set—this is normal and usually means things are moving as intended. It should not feel sharp or severe; if it does, contact us.
-
Remove aligners to eat and to drink anything besides water. Hot drinks and sugary/acidic beverages can stain aligners and increase cavity risk if trapped against teeth.
-
Often you can still do aligners, but we may adjust the plan depending on restorations, implants, gum health, or bite considerations. We’ll review this during your exam so the plan supports both aesthetics and function.
